IPRED2 has already progressed through several European Parliament committees, which have given their suggested amendments. IPRED2 is now ready for a vote by all MEPs on April 24th-26th.
At this plenary vote, MEPs will also be able to vote on amendments to IPRED2.
EFF Europe, together with the Foundation for a Free Information Infrastructure (FFII) and other groups and institutions, will be lobbying MEPs to adopt better language in many different parts of the directive. JURI Tabled Amendments
The JURI (legal affairs) committee is the main committee overseeing IPRED2, with member Nicola Zingaretti in charge of guiding the directive through Parliament. Amendments supported by JURI will carry a lot of weight in the European Parliament. FFII's list of tabled amendments shows the original commission text and the amendments voted on by JURI.
